GUIDED MONOLOGUE : ON LIVING IN A CLOSED SPACE

2020

GUIDED MONOLOGUE : ON LIVING IN A CLOSED SPACE is a recorded, transcripted talk of 45 minutes in a form of guided monologue about the topic of living in a closed space which is supposed to maintain life and survival. The monologue starts with me asking a question "If you had to live in one room for the rest of your life, how would that be?" Through the discussion, the fictional space is being created on spot, reflecting the needs and the desires of the person talking about it, and through that touching on what our contemporary conditions are made of and can provide us, for example technology as the means of participation to the world while being secluded. The discussion also inevitably revolves around architecture and the way we design our spaces for specific needs, and concludes in talking about trying to remain sane and how to create meaning while being isolated from the world.

Parts of the original audio of this recorded talk were used in a video work of mine - "Untitled (Natureculture)"
